During Easter 2010, CWO Ben Bridge, Cpl Partovi and Cdt Leighton from 1224 (Wharfedale) and Cpl Chris Pagdin from 23 (South Elmsall) Sqn joined over 80 cadets at the National Air Cadet Marching Band camp at Fort Blockhouse in Portsmouth. Instruction was provided by ACO personnel as well as top Royal Marine Musicians. Wharfedale Cadets complete road march

On the 24th and 25th of April 2010 three cadets from 1224 (Wharfedale) Squadron took part in the annual RAF Walking And Road Marching Association (WARMA) 2-Day March at DCAE Cosford in Staffordshire.

Cadet Sergeants Sam White and Alex Chambers along with other cadets in the Central And East Yorkshire Wing Road Marching Team took part in the long route march doing 25 miles/40km each day whilst Cadet Corporal Chris Cavaliere, being under 16, took part in the short route doing 20km a day but hopes to do the long route next year.

Following completion of the march Sergeant Chambers was presented with his first year long route medal, Corporal Cavaliere was presented with his first short year medal whilst Sergeant White, having completed the march before, was awarded his second year medal pin.

Sergeants White and Chambers have now qualified for the Nijmegen March, a 100 mile march over four days in July.

Sergeant White said "I'm really glad to have qualified to take part in the Nijmegen Marches again this year, I did it last year and it was one of the best things I've done so far with the Cadets"

Flight Sergeant (ATC) Howe also took part as a team leader for one of the short route teams.

Promotion at 1224

On 15/04/10 OC 1224 Flt. Lt. Hitchen promoted Cadet Chris Cavaliere to Corporal.
